Game night at the Capital City Cribbage Cards Club
The Capital City Cribbage Cards Club is, so far to the best of our knowledge, the first cribbage club in existence in the city of Washington, DC. Membership is open to all, whether you live in Virginia, Maryland or in DC. For the club opening on Wednesday July 30, we played at 7PM, at the Sports Tavern, 2nd floor in downtown DC. On October 1st, we will be playing at Starbucks, located at 7th and H streets  in DC Chinatown on the second floor, starting at 6h30 PM.  The nearest metro station is Chinatown-Pi-Gallery (red, green and yellow lines).  Bus routes are #70, 74, 79, X2 and P6.

Please bring your cribbage board and a deck of cards. We will be playing in teams of 2. This will promote faster playing and also allow an opportunity to try different partners. You only pay for your drinks and food at Starbucks. Playing cost is $5 per week per player. Membership ia $20 per year per player to joing 5C's. We [;ay 9 games in a row.

ACC player ranking starts on September 1st to coincide with the beginning of the ACC scheduled playing year.

Here is some playing information:

Our weekly playing strategy consists of playing nine games against nine different opponents (at the beginning, you might end up playing with the same players more than once). You score 0 game points for a loss, 2 for a win, and 3 for a skunk (winning by more than 30 points). At the end of the night, the player with the most game points wins. Ties are broken first by the number of games won, then by the "spread" (the total points you won your games by, minus the total points you lost by).

All of our tournaments follow the same rules as in larger ACC tournaments, so that when you're ready to compete in these you'll know what you're doing. In addition the top scorers in our tournaments earn grass roots rating points, which accumulate throughout the year. Whomever has the most points at the end of the year receives custody of the MACS cup, and earns an invitation to the ACC Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nevada.
